The basics
Students will work in interdisciplinary teams on case studies related to humanitarian and non-profit logistics
The course will feature weekly lectures, led by the professor, complemented by experts in the field
Students will complete three multi-week case studies with weekly presentations to smaller breakout groups, led by the professor and teaching assistant
The course will culminate with a day-long hackathon to design solutions to a disaster response volunteer problem presented by the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago Region
Course enrollment is capped at 40 students, representing a variety of colleges and majors across Northwestern. Please apply before the deadline, as capacity will be tight.
The course will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:50 pm, with weekly discussion sections on Wednesdays from 4-5 or 5-6.
